HIGHWAY WORKER 2
​
The Huron County Engineer’s Office is accepting applications for the full-time position of Highway Worker 2.
​
Highway Worker 2 will be responsible for maintaining and repairing county highway roads and bridges. Position involves usually routine work in the operation of vehicles and/or construction equipment. Responsible for the careful and safe operation of a variety of motorized equipment. This may require being on call 24 hours a day. Rate of pay will be $24.41 after a 180-day probationary period.
​
Qualifications for the position are completion of secondary education or equivalent and one (1) year of experience working in general construction; or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Applicant must possess a valid State of Ohio Class A or B CDL and maintain insurability under the Engineer’s insurance policy.
​
Potential candidates must be able to pass a DOT drug screen and background check.
​

FIREFIGHTER

The City of Norwalk is announcing open competitive examinations for the position of firefighter.
​
Applicants for the examination must be between the ages of 18 and 40 years old, have a high school education or its equivalent, be a United States citizen or have a valid permanent resident card, have a valid Ohio Driver’s License or be eligible to obtain one, have not been convicted of a felony in any state or federal court, and have not been convicted of any misdemeanor offense of moral turpitude.

The Norwalk Municipal Court will accept applications for the full-time position of Municipal Court Clerical Specialist.
​
Qualifications for this position are:
​
• Successful completion of secondary education or equivalent evidenced by diploma or certificate.
• A minimum of one year of clerical experience is preferred. A knowledge of Court procedure is preferable but not required.
• A combination of experience that provides excellent communication skills, computer/data entry, general business skills, writing skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions.

Starting wage could range from $21.70-$23.98 hourly, based on experience, plus benefits.
​
Selected applicants will undergo a background check.
