We are seeking candidates for a Full-Time Community Integration/Recreation Specialist

 

Summary of Duties: This position is responsible for planning activities in the community that are directly related to an individual’s interests and abilities. 

 

Duties include:

• Facilitating the safe utilization of community resources for the purpose of recreation, leisure, community integration, and self-advocacy activities. 

• Coordinating specific activities around individual interests and abilities. 

• Providing direct care and supervision of individuals with developmental disabilities. 

• Completing necessary documentation. 

• Transporting individuals in a safe manner. 

• Communicating to individuals and families concerning activities and schedule changes. 

• Establishing and maintaining a confidential and cooperative working relationship with individuals, families, guardians, and provider agencies. 

 

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent 

• 1-3 years related experience in the field of developmental disabilities preferred, but not required

• Valid driver’s license 

• Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen 

 

Notes

• Full-time, 37.5 hours per week 

• Days/hours of work vary, depending on activity schedule 

• $13.08 per hour

FULL-TIME FACILITIES SPECIALIST

We are seeking candidates for a Full-Time Facilities Specialist

Summary of Duties: This position is responsible for basic custodial and maintenance services as assigned to perpetuate a clean, safe, and healthy environment. 

Duties Include: 

• Perform routine maintenance duties inside and outside the buildings, including painting, minor electrical repairs, plumbing, and heating and ventilation systems maintenance.

• Perform carpentry functions including, but not limited to, installing pictures, bulletin boards, blinds, signs, shelving, curtains, etc. Performing minor furniture repairs and replace damaged ceiling tiles.

• Move, load, unload, haul and carry materials, supplies and equipment. 

• Co-chair of Safety Committee, as scheduled. 

• Attend safety related trainings as required.

• Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools such as buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high pressure washers, high speed buffers and vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc.

• Assembles/fabricates cabinets, files, desks, chairs, and worktables. 

• Perform custodial tasks as needed, maintains familiarity with cleaning procedures and safety practices. These include, but are not limited to, cleaning, dusting, or waxing furniture, fixture, windows, glass, and mirrors. 

• Clean and sanitize restrooms using established processes and procedures, as needed.

• Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, classes, conferences, special events, etc.

• Strip, clean, buff and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors, vacuum and shampoo carpet.

• Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors, and sills.

• Performs touch up and finish painting.

• Perform routine landscaping duties, including weeding and trimming. 

• Lock and unlock assigned buildings; secure building when facilities are not in use. Check for unlocked doors and windows, report any unauthorized occupants, turn off lights.

• Operate cleaning and snow removal equipment to remove snow and ice from walkways.

• Lift and remove heavy objects and equipment manually or with mechanical assistance.

Maintain an adequate inventory of housekeeping supplies and paper products.

• Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.

• Diagnose mechanical issues and correct them.

Repair machines, equipment, or structures, as necessary.

• Complete administrative duties, such as filling out forms and reporting maintenance statuses to supervisor.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues.

• Report to Director of Facilities regarding issues resolved, those needing attention, and those currently in progress.

• Work with and maintain relationships with contracted vendors.

Comply with all safety and health regulations.

Respond to emergency calls for maintenance and repairs.

• Assist in transporting furniture and equipment.

• Reports need for equipment repair. 

• Assists with or completes requirements for OSHA.

Qualifications: 

• Required: High school diploma and 2-3 years of related experience and/or training

• Must maintain valid Ohio driver’s license, provide proof of personal vehicle insurance, and complete BCI background check

• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Hours/Compensation/Benefits

• 40 hours per week, 7am to 3pm

• Compensation starting at $13.088 per hour

The Monroeville Public Library in Monroeville, Ohio is seeking a fulltime salaried Library Director. The ideal candidate is someone who is innovative and enthusiastic, and skilled at leading and developing a team. This job requires a high level of decision making in regards to overseeing the daily operations of the Library, and exercising authority over staff, strategic planning, financial management and library automation. The candidate must be able to complete a successful background check. 

 

In This Role You Will:

•Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Library, implement services and programs, order materials and maintain the collection.

•Supervise staff to include hiring, training, scheduling, job assignments, and annual evaluations.

•Advise, inform and guide the Board of Trustees regarding policies, services and budget for the Library.

•Oversee the maintenance, use and appearance of physical facilities.

•Use current technology and social media to promote the Library and all programs.

Reserve Officers Needed

The Norwalk Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Reserve Police Officer. Reserve Officers perform the same work as full-time officers on a part time basis. This is a paid position. Reserve officers who complete two years of service are awarded an additional 20% on their score when taking the full-time civil service test. Qualifications for this position are;

  • Must be a United States citizen

Substitute Crossing Guards

The Norwalk Police Department is accepting applications for the position of substitute crossing guard. Substitute crossing guards cover absences for crossing guards at one of five local intersections and work on an on-call basis. Call-in procedures dictate substitutes are called on a rotating basis when a full-time crossing guard notifies the department of a pending absence.
